Spring: a Festival of Colors
Welcome to Spring: a season of delicate contrast. The sun is low on the horizon and the sky is clear. Spring showers wash everything clean and darken the bark on trees that don't have leaves yet. Everywhere, we see budding, translucent leaves, green shoots and damp flowers. In this perfect, but temporary state, we feel time passing-always with the promise of rebirth.
It’s this sense of life and wonder we hope to capture in our clothes at ISABELLA V. Springtime brings with it not just energy, but euphoria. It’s a time of change and growth, when anything feels possible. As springtime brings the dream of summer, our clothes inspire a dream of a more sustainable future.
Our primary color palette of navy, natural white and dry rose pink echoes the glassy blue skies of spring, as well as glowing blossoms. Like an impressionist painting, we apply pure and undiluted hues to enhance contrast and make colors more vivid. Flattering to any skin tone, our dyes are always organic, and forever in harmony with nature.
As we strive to create wearable art, we take inspiration from many sources. In his interpretations of Spring, Claude Monet and his peers took inspiration from Japanese wood block art known as Ukiyo-e. This style of art highlighted the Shinto love of nature, and awe of the changing seasons. Similarly, we at ISABELLA V. aim to create pieces that transcend any one cultural tradition. Our clothing looks as chic on the streets of Tokyo as it does at a cafe in Paris.
Nature is the same, but ever changing. So, too, our clothes aim to be simple, yet universal. We hope you will embrace our brand with the same sprightly excitement we feel when offering our collection.
